WRITING IS HARD!

Let’s be real: writing is an enormous investment of time, energy, emotion, and brainpower—with no guarantee of success at the end of all that effort. Your friends and family might think you’re a little nuts for spending so much time doing it. You might even feel that way yourself from time to time.
But if you’re anything like me, you can’t stop.
You can’t stop seeing scenes in your head.
Can’t stop hearing characters talk to each other.
Can’t stop imagining stories you have to
share with the world!

IF YOU ARE A WRITER, YOU ARE A WRITER

And there’s no turning away from it. But that doesn’t make it easy.

DOES ANY OF THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?

  • You feel OVERWHELMED! There’s so much writing advice out there—books, courses, podcasts, and well-meaning friends tossing around feedback. But all this piecemeal writing advice doesn’t necessarily fit together. Who do you trust? What actually works?

  • You SELF SABOTAGE! Your brain won’t stop asking: What do you think you’re doing? You don’t have a good answer. So you grab a bag of chips and binge The Bear (so good, btw).

  • Your STORY IS STALLED! Something’s not working, but you don’t know what. You’re too close to it. You can feel the problem, but you can’t name it—and you’re stuck.

  • You're EXHAUSTED! You bled and cried and wrestled a rough draft into existence, and you don’t have the energy or interest in a revision!

  • You don't know WHAT COMES NEXT! Is the story done? Should you revise again? Submit to agents? Self-publish? Hire an editor? The path ahead is foggy, and you don’t want to take a wrong step.

I can help you

  • Develop strong writing FUNDAMENTALS. So you can shut out the noise, prevent overwhelm and self-sabotage, and get clear on why you write, who you’re writing for, and what you need to say. You’ll build a solid foundation—for your story and your mindset.

  • Create manageable PROCESSES, with tools for accountability and self-assessment, so you can spot (and solve) story problems before you waste time, energy, and pages. I’ll help you implement consistent, realistic deadlines that keep you moving forward with purpose.

  • Define goals and reach them. We'll craft an accessible, actionable strategy tailored to your unique writing journey, with ongoing SUPPORT every step of the way.

When you work with me, you get the honesty, structure, and support you need to finish your story—with clarity, confidence, and momentum.

Getting clear on where I'm going (which admittedly I hadn't solidified before doing this work) has reignited my enthusiasm for this project. The promise of getting to work with Libby on an ongoing basis, and continue to benefit from her whip-smart feedback, gives me the confidence that this novel is going to be a masterpiece. That's how much faith I have in Libby's guidance.

BUT WAIT! BEFORE YOU commit ...

Here are a few things you need to know:

We need to be a good fit.

Even if you’re ready to invest in coaching, I don’t want to waste your time (or mine) if we’re not aligned. Check out my FAQS to learn more about the genres and types of stories I work with. Still unsure? Schedule a free 30-minute call to see if we’re a match.

I can’t do the work for you.

There is no magic pill to get your butt in the chair.
You have to want to write. You have to show up—for yourself, for your story, and for the process.
I can help you build discipline, stay focused, and make your writing better.
But if you’re hoping I’ll wave a wand and you’ll suddenly land a New York Times Bestseller or an Oscar-winning script… this isn’t that kind of magic.

I can’t guarantee fame—but I can guarantee support.

I can’t promise a publishing deal or a red carpet. What I can promise is this:
I will be your sounding board.
I will cheer for you—and challenge you.
I will tell you the truth, even when it’s hard.
I will help you grow in craft, clarity, and confidence.
I will be there for every scene of your story.

HI! I'M LIBBY

I'm a developmental editor and fiction coach helping screenwriters become novelists and novelists write their best books.

Storytelling is in my bones.
As a kid, I spent my free time tapping out short stories on my mom’s old typewriter. Summers were all about my weekly stack of library books (I always nailed the summer reading challenge), and I published my first poem in the Prairie Winds Art Journal at age twelve.

I believe that well-told, meaningful stories teach us how to be human, how to understand ourselves and others, develop empathy and compassion, navigate both the everyday and the extraordinary, and be good citizens of the world.

Stories help shape culture. They spark change. And that's why I do what I do. My mission is to empower, guide, and amplify the voices of writers who believe real change can happen through the stories we tell.

With 25+ years of experience as an actorwriter, screenplay consultant, and children’s theatre instructor, I’ve devoted my life to telling meaningful stories—and helping others tell theirs.

If you’re ready to finish your story and make it the best it can be, I’m here to offer the honesty, accountability, guidance, and structure to help you get there.

IMAGINE HAVING THE CONFIDENCE, STRUCTURE, SUPPORT, AND KNOWLEDGE TO FINISH YOUR BOOK OR SCRIPT TO THE VERY BEST OF YOUR ABILITY.
